This project is a 3D recreation of the staff used by Renzo Shima from Blue Exorcist. The goal was to accurately recreate the overall shape and ornamental details of the weapon while maintaining clean topology and a strong silhouette suitable for a game prop.
The staff was modeled in Maya 2024, where the primary shapes and decorative elements were built with a focus on symmetry and smooth curvature. Special attention was given to the circular headpiece and ring details, which help give the weapon its distinctive design.
Texturing was completed in Substance Painter, where a polished gold material was created to capture the reflective metallic surface seen in the original design. Roughness variation was added to help the lighting interact naturally with the surface and enhance the readability of the forms.
Lighting for the render was kept simple to emphasize the reflective gold material and highlight the silhouette of the staff.
